Hong Kong and Singapore

On the way to and from Cambodia, we spent a day in Singapore and a day in Hong Kong. Singapore was like a great big shopping mall! The mass of people was amazing! While the kids got to explore the shopping district, Danny, Brooke and I took the subway to another part of the city where we could see a few more of the sites. One of the things we saw was the largest ferris wheel in the world!

It's streets were noticeably very clean, and the roads had flowers everywhere. Really nice! The airport was beautiful as well, with a movie theater, mini golf course, tons of stores, free internet access, a Koi pond, beautiful lounging areas, flowers everywhere, and to top it all off, there was even a walk in butterfly garden with a waterfall!


Hong Kong is known for its interesting archetecture. It's beautiful at night as well when many of the buildings are lit up with colored lights. While there, we got to have a 3 hour tour of the island. We saw lots of the buildings up close, and at a distance, put our feet in the South China Sea, took a ferry ride, and tram ride, and did some shopping. I got a kick out of seeing lines of people just waiting to go into the Loui Vuton shop! The buildings are all tall. Hong Kong doesn't really have regular houses. Everyone lives in very tall condos that we were told have very small rooms to live in. The 100s of tall buildings built on hills throughout the island were facinating to me.
