Well tonight was our final meeting to prepare for our trip to CAMBODIA! All 4 of us will be traveling with the Valley Christian Marching Band. We will be getting on the plane a little before midnight in San Fransisco on Thursday night. We will be flying to Singapore with a quick stop in Hong Kong. We will be staying in Singapore for a day then flying into Cambodia. We will be there for 5 days, then fly to Hong Kong, stay there a day, and fly back to San Fran. We are excited to be going!Click here for a taste of the music we might be hearing in CAMBODIA!
For those of you that pray for us, would you please pray: 1) That God would be exalted; Altho this isn't being promoted as an official "missions trip", we will be representing Christianity, and are taking gifts of school supplies, toiletries, stuffed animals, and game balls to share with the children at the schools and orphanages where the kids will be giving performances. (Brooke is taking her batons and is hoping to be able to twirl a little bit.) 2) That both we Americans, and the Cambodians will have life changing experiences; It should be an emotional trip. Cambodia is one of the poorest nations on the planet. The average income is $1 a day. We will also be visiting the "Killing Fields" and learning about the history of the country. 3) That we would stay safe and healthy throughout the trip; we have gotten typhoid shots, and are taking Malaria pills with us. We have been warned to avoid the water at all cost. We are traveling on Singapore Airlines...the best (and fanciest we hear!) in the world, and we will also be taking buses through rural roads in Cambodia. 4) That all the financial issues would be taken care of; we are going to be learning how to exchange money...something we haven't ever done before! Thanks for your prayers.
This will be the first time Cambodia has opened up it's country to any American high school group. I think it's cool that we are representing our Country in such a great way!
